All in the Name of Art

So Monday my first class was canceled, which was fantastic and i decided that it would be a good idea to stay up really late and get things done Sunday night. I was really productive, i got all of my laundry done and put away (even my sheets and towels) and i finished my photography paper, and organized things and then went through all my notes on Titian and now my whole paper is organized by topic on a pad of post-it notes which are stuck all over my floor and then covered by my rugs so they don't get ruined (there wasn't enough wall space). Anyway, i stayed up extra late and didn't really get any sleep. But that turned out okay since for some reason i was wide awake all day Monday. By the time my classes were over at 3.30 i was so excited to do my homework. I was inspired about my photography projects, that i was freaking out about before since i didn't know what i was going to do. I was even excited to write my paper. So also wanting to make some money i decided to go to shop hours and help build the set for the "Tempest." This is where my day started to go down hill...

I wanted to take pictures of the set in progress but there wasn't enough light so i coudln't get any good shots. So that was a huge disappointment. then it took me and this freshman girl forever to find the stapler that we needed to put the flats together. So that was super frustrating. I'm also annoyed that i have no idea what her name is, but i see her all the time and i should know her but i don't.

I decided that i would walk to Wal-Mart to buy stuff for sculpture, a Barbie doll for my one photography project, while i took pictures on the way there for the other one. This seemed like a great idea, it was sunny out and warm and a beautiful day. So at around 7.00 i left on my journey. Turns out they close the back gate at 7.00 and i had to hop the fence, I'd done this before so it didn't seem like that big a deal but i ended up actually hurting myself. I have a bump which will eventually turn pretty colors, and a small cut on my lower left arm, three small cuts on my right wrist, and a long scrape and a huge black bruise on my left leg just under my but!!! All from hopping a fence!!!! WTF So now i'm in kind of a bad mood, because now i hurt and i still have to walk all the way to Wal-mart. (which is only like a 15 minute walk it's not that bad) So i get there and i start poking around in other stores to see what they have, like DSW for brown sandals, and TJ Maxx to see if they had any good Barbies. These stores were in the strip before Wal-Mart. So finally i make it to wall mart and decide it would be a good idea to actually wash out my cuts. so i go in the bathroom and the first thing i see is this little boy running around with his pants around his ankels. His mom comes out of a stall after him and starts yelling at him in not-English and then this Wal-mart employee comes out and starts washing her hands. So here i am a blond white girl with pig tails and blue hair ribbons washing off cuts on my writs in the sink of wall mart which was automatic an i had problems even getting it to work. It was so awkward. So i find the stuff for sculpture but i don't like any of their Barbies, so i have to walk all the way to the other side of the complex to Target. (It's weird all the stores are back to back in the middle and they are surrounded by parking lot - like an island of stores or something) By this time my feet hurt and I'm tired and its' completely dark out. Although Target had very nice Barbies and i found a really good one.

The walk home was even worse. I'm not even 5 minutes into my walk home when this car drives by and honks at me and slows down and eventually stops like 100 yards in front of me. I'm thinking it's someone i know from school and they are going to offer me a ride back to campus. Not so, the driver yells back at me, but i can't hear what they said and then turns around drives by in the other direction, turns around to drive by me again really slowly and then looks like they are going to stop again, but they don't. it was so creepy and scary. I almost got out my cell phone to pretend that i was talking to someone, but they left. So now I'm walking extra fast and I'm all freaked out. About two blocks from campus at an intersection this car drives by and the driver stared at me for the entire turn. (he kinda looked like Steve Shey but like i haven't seen him in forever and it was dark and why would he be driving around Towson anyway?) And the next car to drive by stopped, and i thought they were being nice and just letting me cross which i thought was silly because no one was behind them at all and the stopped in the middle of the cross walk - it was like an after thought. But they wanted to offer me a ride. Okay, it's dark I'm a girl, you are alone in a huge mini van, and you are a male who i don't know. What makes you think I'm going to get in your car? Never mind that i can practically see campus. I walked as fast as i could the last two blocks and then hopped the back fence again. it is much easier to get back on campus then it is to get off - you'd think it'd be the other way around.

I did manage to get all my art things, but omg what a disaster it was.

Later that night i went to take a shower and it was taking forever for the water to get hot. In fact it stayed freezing cold for what seemed like a really long time. I started messing around with the dial and turns out the hot now means cold and the cold now means hot. How does that get messed up over night? HOW!!?? It was normal the day before? It's been normal all semester, and in fact is the same shower i used as a freshman and it was normal then too. How do you mess something like that up?
