I talked to John today about camp, they won't pay me more than 10 a kid - the club is in a ton of debt apparently - but i am also on the clock. Still not as much as i could be making somewhere else, but such is the story of the entire pool area. I spent part of today figuring it out. If we have 20 kids a week (hopefully we'll have more but i think 20 is a good average because i think some weeks we'll have less) I'll make 322.50 on camp per week. (I'd decided that 400 a week was a decent amount that would have been $33.33 per lesson - 100 per day). I lose 3 hours off my regular shifts that total to 35 hours, but then with camp i end up being on the clock for 45 hours per week so that's over time. If we have 20 kids per week it will almost double my paycheck. I wish i could just be like "no, not for 10 make it 16 per kid" but I really need the money (300 extra a week is a brand new digital SLR camera for me - the camp is only 4 weeks long) and i don't think they will give it to me. On the bright side I'm officially the head guard. I don't have the pay that normally comes with the title but at least I can put "head guard" on my resume and not look like i stayed at the same lame job for 6 years and got nowhere. I can also put the camp down, so that's good. Not that those things have anything at all to do with photography, but i have leadership skills and all that jazz.

We were suppose to be open from 10-8 today because it's monday before 4th of July but like no one came so we got to close at 6 like we normally do on Mondays (but i still had to get up an extra hour early) So instead of going to the gym like i should have so that i could go to swim practice i made food. Lots and lots of food. I made star cookies (we ran out of fish), and frog eye salad, and pasta salad with vegetables and managed to watch "The Closer" which is a TV show my mom likes and i watch because she watches it. I actually don't like the main character. She is kind of a bitch. All that took only 3 hours! Tomorrow i will actually go to the gym.
